Have to disagree with the move. Hes playing great, team playing great around him. They are a competitive football team. And tua coming off severe injury. Just doesn't make sense to me

Agree plus they are in it win the division! Also why have Tua go against the Rams? Wait for the Jest game if you're going to start him.

I think it makes complete sense, ultimately they aren't going anywhere with Fitz as much of a feel good story as he is.

Do it now while you are 3-3, if you keep winning and are 5-4, 7-5 and in the playoff race then it just becomes harder and harder. Then what? He sits the whole year?

You took Tua 4th overall, time to see what you got.

You play the rook when ready. Obviously FitzMagic has no future.

Exactly, Fitz already 0-3 this year vs NE/Buf/Sea. SF win was nice but Jets/Jags are a joke. They've made great strides since the 1st half of '19 but not like Fitz has ever proven he has any real sustainability in this league.

Start him 16 games to maybe get to the 1st round for what? So he can throw 3 picks on the road? That isn't how you build a good future after getting owned by NE for two decades.

I think this was probably the plan all along. Regardless of how Fitz did and what their record is. They were going to make this move.

They have two first round picks this year, including Houston's pick. They need to find out if Tua is their guy. Because if there is any question after getting 10 games under his belt, they might have a tough decision to make if that HOU pick is in the top 2-3...

Sticking with Fitz so you can lose a road playoff game is what a bad organization would do. See what you got and if you don't have much then just draft another QB until you have one.

Why not wait until the team loses the momentum they now have ? Assuming that even happens.

What if you keep winning? Then you just don't play Tua this year so the team could go 10-6 and lose in the first round?

It is the NFL, anything can happen but I think most would agree that is probably on the high end of what the Dolphins are capable of if they stick with Fitz. Even that seems pretty lofty. I mean, he's a cool story, cool guy but just is what he is. If I were a fan of the team I'd rather see if we found the future or not. Or atleast get far in the direction of answering that question.

They beat some bad teams and a banged up team, not exactly world beaters here.

Not the worst thing in the world for him to sit this year.. Especially if the rest of the team is responding and developing positively

I agree and don't agree.....this is a weird decision right now....just a weird time to bench your starting QB out of the blue when the team is winning. Tua is the future yes I can't wait to see him in there....but damn this caught me off guard. Maybe something wrong with Fitz we don't know about...He's a stand up dude he knows what's going on I'm sure he's all on board for this. He's a class act

I generally agree with your astute observation on this PF but I'd let Fitz self destruct a little (and he will) before going to Tua and see what he has.

To the thread starter.

This is not Roto football.

They don’t redraft a new team every season.

Yea fitz is a cool story. The End.

Tua is the guy you have to find out about .

If he is 100% healthy (which I assume he is otherwise they would not be making this move ) throw him out there .

And Willie this is not madden .

They won’t lose half the locker room if he fails .

Im sure most of the locker room understands what’s going on.

They have this thing called film .

If an NFL players is dumb enough to implode because they have what they think is the wrong QB under center then that’s a player you don’t want in the locker room.

Fitz will move on to some other team next season and we will start this process all over again . That’s what journeyman QBs do

Maybe they should apply this to the Saints. Brees isn't leading a team to the promised land anymore either. Why not replace him ? He's way past his prime
